About Us
History
In 1964, Monmouth County, NJ was undergoing a building development boom. Morton Weiner, a young man with a history of sales and route work, had an idea to create a business born out of the need for sanitary restroom facilities on local construction sites. He teamed up with his brother David and thus began the Mr. John Company.
Morton and David worked with a carpenter to design and build their first portable restroom (as seen in the picture to the right). The “unit,” as it was referred to, was a very efficient design that used a steel drum along with exactly three sheets of Plywood with no waste! Morton rented the units to contractors and developers across Monmouth County who were thrilled to have a clean temporary restroom on the job site. After the success of this unit, Morton arranged to have several others created.
Over the years, Morton Weiner’s determination, dedication and ability to develop and implement a unique product propelled Mr. John into a thriving business. Thanks to strong organizational and leadership efforts, the company maintained a focus on customer satisfaction while incorporating new technologies, products and services to help deliver on the promise of clean, portable restrooms.
Today, Mr. Weiner’s legacy lives on and his commitment to the industry is carried out every day by his family and employees. Mr. John is now owned and operated by his two sons, Gary and Mitchell Weiner and son-in-law, David Dam. The service area has grown considerably and now encompasses the entire state of NJ, the New York metro area including Long Island, eastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware.
Mr. John still works hard every day to deliver on a promise made in a modest Monmouth County backyard in 1964. Each employee strives to provide an excellent experience in the form of quality products and superior service in support of our customer’s needs.
